I am in this profession after 49 years of asking, "Why am I here, Lord?" My whole life had been preparing me for finding this answer. One day, while I was reading an article about two highly-trained massage therapists helping a little boy re-learn to walk, I knew; I felt called.
Massage therapy with its various bodywork modalities address the physical well-being. We are so designed that when the physical is being addressed, the emotional and mental, the very psyche, is being affected. When a person allows that into their life, they are opening to a brighter, more possible world.
All of the massage therapists I know have felt called. They all have genuine concern for the care of those who come to them. I have spent a lifetime preparing myself to be awakening spiritually; to touching deeply that inner core that is still attached to our Source. I am highly intuitive and empathic and insight comes to me moment by moment. It is this that I rely upon in the massage room. It is not of me, but through me. The power is gentle, but deeply effective. That's when healing reconnections can be made at all levels.
